Install Theme

After downloading the package from ThemeForest, please unzip it. You’ll see a file called savior.zip, which is the main file needed to upload and install.

You can choose to upload and install the theme using either the WordPress theme install feature or the FTP function.

If you plan to customize the theme, you should install both the theme and the child theme, then activate the child theme. Using a child theme allows you to customize parts of the parent theme without modifying the original theme files.

Install via WordPress Dashboard

1. Navigate to Appearance > Themes.
2. Click the Add New button at the top of the page, then the Upload Theme button.
3. Click Choose File and locate the theme files you’ve just downloaded. If you downloaded the installable WordPress file, you do not need to unzip the file. If you downloaded the Full Theme Package, unzip the master savior-package.zip file; inside, you will find a secondary savior.zip file, which is the one you select to install.
4. Click the Install Now button.
5. When the upload and installation are complete, click Activate, or go to Appearance > Themes and activate the Savior theme.

Install via FTP

If you encounter any issues when installing the theme using the WordPress install function, we recommend using FTP.

1. If you have downloaded the Full Theme Package from ThemeForest, please unzip the package file to get the theme file savior.zip. Unzip the savior.zip file, and you’ll get a folder named Savior.
2. Use an FTP client like FileZilla to upload the extracted folder to the wp-content/themes directory on your host.
3. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard, navigate to Appearance > Themes, and click the Activate button for the Savior theme.

Troubleshooting

1. “Theme is missing the style.css stylesheet” error
   A common issue when installing a WordPress theme is the error message: “The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.” This can occur if you have uploaded the incorrect file. You have two options for downloading your theme:
   • Installable WordPress file only
   • All files and documentation (full zip folder): You will need to extract and locate the installable WordPress file
2. “Are you sure you want to do this?” error
   If you encounter the “Are You Sure You Want To Do This?” message when installing the savior.zip file via WordPress, it means you have an upload file size limit set by your host. If this happens, please install the theme via FTP or contact your hosting company to increase the limit
