Import Demo

The easiest way to import our demo content is to use One Click Demo Import plugin. Our importer will provide you with all pages and posts, several sample sliders, widgets, menus, theme options, assigned pages, and more. This is recommended for fresh installs. It will not replace existing content such as posts, pages, or portfolios, nor will it delete current menus or sliders. However, it will configure and use our demo menus, add sliders, and replace theme options, reading settings, and widgets.

Before Importing

Before you import any of our available demos, please make sure to check the items listed below. These are important to ensure that your demo import goes smoothly. If something goes wrong with your demo import, please see the Troubleshooting section below.

  • Required Plugins: Ensure Savior’s required plugins are installed. Also, you can install the recommended plugins if you want.
  • Sage Core: Verify that you’re using the latest version of this plugin.
  • System Status: Navigate to Savior > System Status and ensure your server meets all requirements.
  • Use Modern Browsers: To ensure the importing process runs smoothly, use Chrome or Firefox. These modern browsers support new JavaScript APIs. Avoid using Internet Explorer as it is an outdated browser and may cause issues during the import process.

Import Demo Data

Once you’ve confirmed all requirements and ensured everything is in order, you can begin the demo import process:

  1. Download and install the plugin One Click Demo Import. This plugin is required to enable the “Import Demo” feature.
  2. Navigate to Savior > Demo Import, select the demo you want to import, and click the Import button.
  3. The import process may take a few minutes to complete. Please be patient and wait for it to finish. During the import process, you will see message logs to track its progress.

Troubleshooting

  1. I don’t see Demo Import menu
This feature requires you to install the One Click Demo Import plugin in addition to Savior Core. Please ensure both plugins are installed and activated.
  2. I’m stuck at the importing screen
This issue is often related to hosting configuration. Please submit a ticket on our support system so our developers can assist you in resolving it.
  3. Demo content duplicated
Solution 1: Use the WP Reset Plugin. This is the quickest way to remove duplicate content, but it will reset your entire WordPress installation to its default state, removing all imported content including pages, posts, menus, sliders, widget data, theme options, etc. Only use this if you are prepared to start over.
Solution 2: Manual Removal. This method involves manually deleting duplicate items one by one. For example, you can go to Appearance > Menu to delete duplicate menu items, and do the same for pages, posts, sliders, etc.

These steps should help you resolve the issues you’re facing during the demo import process. If you continue to encounter problems, reaching out to our support team for assistance is recommended.
